Alan Goodman is county engineer for Lake County, Minnesota. Goodman, a graduate of the University of Minnesota is a licensed professional engineer. He was appointed to his current position in 1983. His experence also includes six years as Itasca County's bridge engineer and, later, construction engineer.
Goodman has been active as a board member of the Minnesota County Engineer's Association and the Transportation Policy Institute. His interests include following his children's exploits, golf and life at the cabin. His home, Two Harbors, is the beginning point of the Northshore Inline Marathon.

Todd was raised right here in Duluth. He went to Duluth Cathedral High School, graduating in 1979. He continued on to Princeton University, graduating in 1983 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
He has been employed as a registered professional civil engineer by the Minnesota Department of Transportation in Duluth since 1987, performing a variety of duties including that of District Soils Engineer (responsible for designing pavement structures), Construction Project Engineer (responsible for the field construction of Leif Erikson Park and much of the Duluth Lakewalk, among many other projects), District Surveys Engineer, and most recently District Hydraulics Engineer and Project Manager.
Todd is also a skating enthusiast and has completed every NSIM. He owned possibly the first pair of inline skates in Duluth, crude frames and wheels bolted to hockey boots, in 1980.
Other interests include... inline skating, x-c skiing, roller-skiing, running, canoeing, camping, travel. He ran the last two Garry Bjorklund half-marathons and coaches youth soccer and hockey in Superior.
Todd is Resident of Superior since 1990. He and his wife Sue have 3 children.

Michelle Buria is originally from MN's Iron Range but moved to Duluth with her family at still an early age. She is a graduate of the Marshall School in Duluth and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Financial Management and a Spanish minor.
Michelle is a registered Financial Advisor with UBS Financial Services focusing her career on building and maintaining relationships with her clients to effectively help them with their financial planning needs. She lives in Duluth with her husband, Dave Lambert, and daughter, Briana. Her interests include music, travel, volleyball, actively participating in the community, and movie nights with her family.

Rick was born in Minneapolis and raised in Duluth. A graduate of East
High School in 1981, he toured Europe, performing with the Duluth East
A'Capella Choir. He pursued a chemical engineering degree at the
University of MN-Duluth, drilled for oil in Texas and is a decorated,
former United States Marine.
Inline racing, triathlon, speedskating, nordic skiing, running, and
adventure racing are some of the athletic interests Rick competes in
regularly. Other interests include golf, guitar, public
television/radio and nature in general. Rick is a member of U.S.
Speed Skating, a past president of the Northern Inline Skater's
Club-2000/2001, and a Staff volunteer of the Big Granite Inline
Marathon/Half Marathon. He operates an inline / ice speed skating
specialty shop called Abo's Skate Shop and manages TEAM SK8HARD.NET,
based in Duluth.
Rick resides in the Kenwood neighborhood of Duluth with his wife
Michelle and their daughter Holly.

He has been married to his wife Cara since 1987 and has 2 children, Michael and Kevin.
Civic Involvement:
A lifelong Duluth resident with 6 years away in Idaho, Colorado, Montana and Arizona. Jay is a big booster of Duluth as a year round recreation area.
Jay was a charter member of the City of Duluth's Charitable Gambling Commission serving for six years. He is also active with his synagogue, Temple Israel. He always seems to be on some board within the organization.
Interests:
His summer evenings are busy coaching little league and soccer. He is an avid downhill and cross country skier participating in those sports nearly his entire life and has been an inline skater since he received a pair as a father's day gift in 1991. You can catch Jay skating almost every morning nearly year round on the lakewalk and other areas.

Randy is a founding board member of the North Shore Inline Marathon and former Board Chair in 2001. He served on the board for seven years and continues to be a huge advocate for the event since relocating to Duluth from Lakeville. Randy originally served as treasurer and was instrumental in helping get the event off the ground. He was formerly employed at Minnesota Power and helped secure them as a major sponsor from the event's inception to today. He also organized the Minnesota Power Inline Striders skating group and helped to develop the NSIM's Corporate Challenge. Randy has skated in all 10 marathons to date and plans to continue to not only be a participant, but also a spokesman for the event in the Twin Cities market.

Steve Greenfield was on the board during the race's first six years, serving as board chair in 2000. The owner of a public relations and advertising firm, Steve put his talents to work to help the race establish a national and international name for itself in the early years. Ed Koch is Senior Account Manager for Westmorelandflint, a Duluth advertising and public relations agency. He has over 30 years of experience in the field communications, starting as a reporter for regional daily newspapers and later in corporate communications. Ed works with clients on communications plans that integrate advertising, marketing and public relations tactics. Ed is married and has three children. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He enjoys outdoor activities including sailing, downhill and telemark skiing, and inline skating.
