[Duluth, MN, August 6, 2024] — The NorthShore Inline Marathon, North America's largest inline race, is set to host its largest event since 2008. With over 2,200 participants already registered and 40 days remaining until the marathon, skaters from 48 states and 10 countries, ranging in age from 7 to 83, are gearing up for an unforgettable celebration of inline skating.

A Diverse and International Community

This year’s marathon showcases the sport's broad appeal, drawing participants from across the United States and around the world, including Canada, Australia, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The diverse lineup underscores the marathon's reputation as a premier event in the inline skating community. Skaters like Olympian Viktor Thorup from Denmark (Right Picture) had this to say about our race. “I am super excited to come back to the NorthShore. It’s a one-of-a-kind course and perfect for any level”.

"We're excited to see such a strong turnout this year," said Joe Haggenmiller, Operations Director for the NorthShore Inline Marathon. "This will be our largest event since 2008, and we're thrilled to welcome both returning skaters and newcomers. The enthusiasm and community spirit are truly inspiring."

Duluth Running Races on Track for Record Participation

In addition to the inline marathon, our running races are also experiencing unprecedented interest. With a 10k and half marathon we are seeing registrations for these events jump up to be some of the highest ever recorded. Runners from various backgrounds and skill levels (like those showcased below) are joining in greater numbers, making this a truly inclusive event. The growing participation reflects the increasing popularity of running and the NorthShore events' reputation for offering exceptional courses and a supportive community.
