Skeeter Moore, long-time executive director of North America’s largest Inline Marathon is retiring.
Immediate Release: February 2nd, 2023
Duluth, Minnesota - The NorthShore Inline Marathon is announcing the retirement of our Executive Director, Skeeter Moore. Skeeter has held this role for over 12 years and has brought much excitement and energy to the race. His presence and expertise will be greatly missed by our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, supporters, and partners. His retirement has been effective since December 31st, 2022.
Over his tenure, Skeeter brought in many new and exciting changes to the NorthShore Inline Marathon and its race weekend as well as procuring and managing a list of great sponsors. He has built many enduring partnerships with the city of Duluth, the city of Two Harbors, St. Louis and Lake counties, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, local business associations, and other race organizations within the area.
With his retirement, Skeeter remarked: “I had an amazing experience as Executive Director for the NSIM, and leading the Nation's largest inline skating event in Duluth. A wonderful event for the city of Duluth, the North Shore as well as Two Harbors! I definitely will miss seeing all of the emotions as the participants cross the finish line in September. Thank you to all the sponsors, volunteers, staff and the NSIM board of directors for supporting an amazing event that we all have produced over the years. I wish them all continued success in 2023 and into the future.”
Our Race Director, Joe Haggenmiller, will continue to serve as a leader for the NorthShore Inline Marathon and community as the board commits to a smooth transition for the organization as it seeks to replace Skeeter's many contributions to NSIM.
Skeeter leaves the organization knowing his efforts have paved the way for the growth and continuation of what is known as the "Largest Inline Marathon Event" in North America. Along with our rollerski and running events taking place on the beautiful North Shore, Skeeter has secured a lasting impact on all the events we know, love and share today.
We wish Skeeter all the best in his retirement.
Thank You, Skeeter Moore!
